Responsibilities
- Perform all tasks in a safe manner.
- Comply with OSHA and Hazardous Material regulations pertaining to lift truck operation and material handling and observes plant and departmental safety rules and regulations
- Perform forklift inspections and report any issues. Responsible for battery maintenance, charging, changing and filling lift truck battery as needed
- Operate dock equipment (both manual and automatic) and correct or report any issue identified
- Knowledgeable of handling procedures for all materials to prevent accidents
- Responsible for warehouse housekeeping including equipment and floor cleanliness, aisle maintenance, and common area appearance
- Load / Unload trailers to receive material, transfer material between warehouses, and ship customer orders
- Verify, identify and inspect a wide variety of incoming materials, supplies, and finished goods from operations
- Pulls, stages and ships customer orders
- Responsible for various inventory transaction using barcode scanner and/or computer system
- Monitors First In – First Out inventory transactions
- Prepare and/or assemble required shipping documents.
- Able to prepare all required documentation in a legible and complete manner
- Troubleshoot any material problems including inventory discrepancies, freight damage, contamination, packaging or handling issues.
- Must report any variances in receiving, material moves to/from production, and shipping transactions
- Responsible for quality control – no damage product shipped, no damaged raw materials accepted
- Participated in cycle counts as required
- Follows all procedures including but not limited to work instructions, standard operating procedures, material specifications, and job safety analysis
- Participate in department and plant meetings and all training as required.
- Warehouse material handlers that perform duties in MOR and WAY must maintain CDL classified licensure.
- Train others as required
Qualifications
- High School Diploma Required
- 2 years experience in manufacturing, a plus
- Forklift certified, preferred
