The Assistant Director of Advancement for Alumni at Berwick Academy is responsible for creating and implementing a dynamic and successful alumni engagement program. Berwick Academy has a unique and storied history that enjoys an extensive community of over 3,000 talented and interesting alumni. The goal of the Assistant Director of Advancement for Alumni is to identify and activate alumni to increase alumni networking, support, and stewardship of the school. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and engaging individual who enjoys building relationships across generations. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential and the position requires a person who is innovative, organized, and enjoys being challenged. The Assistant Director of Advancement for Alumni reports to the Assistant Head of School for External Affairs and will join a high functioning team in the advancement office. Duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Build and maintain key strategic relationships with alumni locally and nationally to cultivate networking, engagement, and volunteerism
With input from key stakeholders, develop and implement a metric-driven strategic plan for alumni engagement
Develop and oversee the alumni communications plan and online engagement in collaboration with the communications team
Develop and implement strong data integrity in the alumni database Raiser's Edge
Identify and visit alumni to engage, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward to build community and meet fundraising goals
Provide comprehensive support to The Berwick Fund as it relates to alumni participation
In collaboration with others, manage advancement events, which include homecoming, alumni receptions and gatherings, grandparents and special friends day, new parent dinner, etc.
Serve as an enthusiastic, active member of the school community
Other duties and special projects as assigned
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree and will have at least three years of development and/or community building experience in an educational or non-profit organization as well as high proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google, Adobe suite, and social media platforms.
