What are the responsibilities and job description for the Job Estimator position at Best-Hire?
Job Estimator
- 40 hour work week
- Monday through Friday / 8 AM - 5 PM
- Wages: $22 - $28 hour depending on experience
- Full benefits plus 401K
- Utilize Relevant Software/Applications: Utilize industry specific systems/software/applications including but not limited to Drybook, Xactimate, and Time and Materials.
- Develop clear and accurate job estimates: Identify appropriate production services, time, and necessary materials to develop an accurate job estimate. The scope sheet, pictures, and supporting documents should be submitted for entry into the estimating database. Develop and ensure accurate and fair pricing. Calculate necessary labor hours for each estimate.
- Scheduling: Work with office staff to schedule jobs and make changes to the schedule to ensure all jobs are completed in a timely manner.
- Build Workload: Build and maintain a workload to keep production crews on track to meet or exceed their production goals.
- Manage communication with stakeholders: Maintain communication with customers about the job to ensure expectations are met. This includes homeowners, the public, agents, adjusters, consultants, etc.
- Manage Work-In-Progress: Assist and manage performance of crews to ensure labor hours are met and communicate with office staff, ensuring crews work efficiently and maintain good communication.
- Inspect services and final walk through: Achieve customer satisfaction by ensuring quality work is completed during and at the end of each job.
- Manage subcontractors: Coordinate and monitor subcontract work, ensuring quality work is completed timely. Review and evaluate annually.
Position Requirements
- 2 year(s) of insurance property claim adjusting experience
- Experience with writing estimates, job file processes, and quality assurance a plus
- Experience in Xactimate®
- Experience in service industry environment a plus
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Successful at working in a fast-paced, team-oriented office environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to learn new software and proprietary software
- Minimum of HSD/GED preferred
- Ability to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law
