The Impact this role will have
The Area Safety Manager will serve as the area staff subject matter expert in safety, developing and carrying out procedures as well as documenting processes within the organization. The Area Safety Manager will be responsible for the safety and training compliance as outlined by the company and OSHA directives. What will your day be like
Conducting on-site Safety Observation Reports looking for possible hazardous and deficient situations.
Implementing solutions and follow up with corrective action to employees as needed.
Conducting incident investigations as needed.
Assigning web-based training and verifying employee training is up to date while forecasting future training.
Conducting random site visits for the purpose of training crews and promoting Safety.
Serving as a resource to our employees for customer specifications regarding safety, OSHA rules and regulations along with Betacom’s safety policies.
Being creative and creating Safety Bulletins.
Conducting classroom training of employees and subcontractor’s employees.
Coordinating with OSHA on any site inspections.
Tracking and implementing in-house safety programs.
Issue all training certificates for all Instructor Lead Safety training classes.
Assisting the Director of Safety with creating and revising in-house training modules.
Implementing, interacting, and maintaining active communication processes with Operations management.
Working with other Area Safety managers to develop proactive safety initiatives.
Travel a minimum of 60% of your time.
Must be available 24x7.
Ability to work in all weather conditions.
The specialized skills, experience, and education you will share with Betacom.
Your 7 plus years in the telecommunications tower industry (required).
Certification as a Trainer in Fall Protection, Rigging, First-Aid/CPR and OSHA standards (not required but a plus)
Your previous experience/knowledge in the areas of safety and risk management.
Your Fleet Safety and DOT compliance would be useful (not required).
Your computer skills utilizing Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, and other digital formats.
Your valid driver’s license and driving record that meets criteria to drive for Betacom.
Your ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries.
