The Impact this role will have
Almost everyone has a cell phone or some type of wireless communication but without our Tower Technicians, none of these cellular devices would function! Our Tower Technicians will take care of our towers, put up new ones and maintain old ones to ensure that our customers always have full bars of service. Your day may be building a tower from the ground up putting them together piece by piece, bolt by bolt. Your day may be replacing broken or worn-out parts like antennas or light bulbs, painting the towers, or stringing cables.
What your day will be like
Climbs and works on communications towers for the purpose of installing, replacing, and repairing antenna systems equipment.
Performs tower maintenance under close supervision.
Ability to climb tall structures (100 feet or more) with a 50-pound load.
Knows the hazards associated with tower climbing, construction equipment, and working on or near energized lines and equipment.
Perform tape drops.
Knowledge of basic tower rigging techniques.
Proficient with installation of antennas, RRH’s, ground kits, RET systems.
Assist with testing procedures (sweeps, PIM, fiber testing, etc.)
The specialized skills, experience, and education you will share with Betacom
High school diploma or equivalent.
Good reading and writing skills (English)
Tower Tech IV - 4 years of progressive experience in the wireless site development industry.
OSHA 10, RF Awareness Training and First Aid/CPR trained.
Current ComTrain or equivalent certification in Tower Climbing Safety and Rescue Certification.
Reliable transportation to and from work.
Working knowledge of basic hand tools, mechanical equipment, and electro-mechanical equipment.
Acceptable driving record and valid driver’s license required.
