Description
The History and Political Science Department of Bethany College announces a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor of History to begin August 2023. A PhD in History is preferred; ABD will be considered. Though the field of History is open, strong preference will be given to those applicants with a background in US Latinx or Latin American history, and a willingness to contribute to College efforts that serve a burgeoning Hispanic population.
Additional responsibilities include teaching introductory survey classes, junior and senior level departmental courses, and participation in creative course development with faculty from disciplines outside of History as part out our "Bethany Core Experience." This position will also participate in curriculum assessment, advising students within the major, aiding the department and the college in recruitment, and broader college service.
