What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Billing Associate position at Bethel Station Chiropractic Office?
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records and patient information to ensure accurate coding and billing
- Assign appropriate medical codes using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations
- Verify insurance coverage and process claims for reimbursement
- Communicate with healthcare providers to resolve any coding or billing discrepancies
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Update and maintain patient records in the billing system
Experience:
- Experience in medical coding and billing preferred, but training is offered.
- Proficient in medical terminology and understanding of medical procedures preferred
- Knowledge of coding systems such as ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG preferred
- Familiarity with medical billing software/systems preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
