What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Manager position at Bethel University?
Under the general direction of the Program Director and direct supervision of the Clinical Director, the Clinical Manager assists the Clinical Director with the administrative aspects of planning and coordinating the clinical phase of the PA Program. Primary responsibilities include coordination between preceptor, clinical department and university and maintaining the SCPE files.
Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
1. Perform duties in accordance with the philosophy, policies, and procedures of the program.
2. Assists program director with ARC-PA compliance.
3. Establishes and maintains affiliation agreements with preceptors and affiliated institutions.
4. Manages ARC-PA portal (SCPE tab) with up-to-date preceptor and institution affiliation agreements and active status.
5. Assists the clinical director in the direction, structure, organization, and scheduling of rotations in the clinical year.
6. Participates in ongoing and periodic program self-assessment.
7. Ensures/maintains the confidentiality of student information.
8. Maintains student and program liability insurance.
9. Manages students’ background check process, student drug screening process and immunization process.
10. Manages students with institutional credentialing.
11. Assists clinical director with weekly monitoring of patient encounters through eMedley.
12. Registers second and third year students with College of Health Sciences’ registrar.
13. Manages second and third year students’ grades into the program grade book.
14. Regularly attends all faculty/staff meetings.
15. Registers 1st year students on NCCPA’s website
16. Assists in promoting the program among the community and healthcare providers.
17. Participates in the program’s job sharing/training initiative to become familiar with the duties involving academic coordinator and admissions responsibilities.
18. Receives and directs BUPAP telephone calls, and collect and distribute BUPAP mail
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in education, business, or related field of study or 1-3 years’ experience in administrative office setting and/or managerial position, preferred healthcare professions school or education.
