Job Title: Lifeguard Classification: Seasonal Part time
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Department: Various Departments
Immediate Supervisor: Asst. Director of Residential
Job Summary:
Seasonal position to perform duties as a Lifeguard at the pool in the facility and maintain safety as well as sanitation of the pool area.
Essential Functions of the Position:
1. Maintain safety of residents and staff in the swimming area
2. Communicate with residential staff for pool safety rules enforcement
3. Give swimming instructions as requested
4. Maintain and clean pool area
Required Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of cleaning products and safe usage
2. Able to work with minimal supervision
Physical Demands:
1. Lifting requirement of less than 20lbs on an occasional basis.
2. Ability to actively participate in swimming, providing instruction, and monitoring the pool and pool area for hazards.
3. Ability to physically rescue swimmers and provide CPR/First Aid as needed in pool and pool area.
Required Education, Experience, and Clearances:
1. Life Guard certification
2. First Aid / CPR certification
3. Water safety instructor preferred
4. FBI, Child Abuse History, PA State Police, and Driver Clearances. Other clearances may be required dependent on residency status.
HIPAA Minimum Necessary Standards:
1. No need to see client information
