Assistant Director of Administrative Computing
Manages and maintains a comprehensive University information resource, oversees collection and reporting of complex, related information. Oversees integrations from and to third party software providers. Develops MS-SQL queries, stored procedures, create custom reports, and modify ERP user forms to enhance organizational productivity. Plan, organize and manage the university’s data processing operations, develop and utilize goals, objectives, and priorities set by them, as well as plan, schedule and supervise the work of the data processing department. Provides technical expertise to the data processing department concerning operational priorities, evaluate the university’s data processing needs, meet and coordinate activities with data processing vendors, determine equipment needs and make assessments. Also responsible for aiding other departments; evaluating and recommending appropriate programs, monitoring and assessing installed applications and meeting with users to determine data processing needs. Oversees and coordinate overall systems development and modification of applications software.
Responsibilities
Supplies an efficient data processing operation by monitoring and maintaining efficiency of the organizations systems in accordance with evolving company needs and technological improvements.
Leads data processing operations and develops systems that meet the needs of campus community
Collaborates with department heads to analyze existing systems, ensuring that current needs are met, while planning for necessary future modifications and improvements.
Maintains current knowledge of developments in management information to offer new solutions as problems and needs arise.
Prepares reports for executive decision making and all departmental needs.
Conducts needs assessments, designs and creates tables, stored procedure, triggers and provides enhancements and modifications to existing reports, stored procedures and databases.
Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements
Develop, implement and optimize store procedures and functions using T-SQL
Develop stored procedures and scripts for automated data migration to and from third party software
Demonstrates an ability to meet own responsibilities

Required Experience
At least 3-5 years of SQL database management or similar experience
Excellent understanding of T-SQL queries, MS Reporting Services, SISS packages, and other related programming
BS degree in Computer Science or 3-5 years of work-related experience
Knowledge of shell scripting and experience with Jenzabar database is desirable.
