Better Community Living, Inc. (BCL) is a premier human service provider where families have a voice, and individuals choose to be a part of our living and working community. BCL serves the Greater New Bedford Area providing more than just living spaces and day habilitation for individuals with developmental disabilities and autism. With over 28 years of experience, we provide these individuals with the support to become productive members of the community while establishing empowering friendships.
We are seeking energetic, responsible, and motivated interns to learn about different roles in a Human Services Agency. As an intern for BCL you will learn the ins-and-outs of our daily routines and procedures. You will focus on learning how our organization runs, and can be expected to gain valuable insight that can further your interest in your chosen career field.
Working Conditions
- Physical activities include but not limited to climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, pulling, etc.
- Exerting in excess of 100 lbs. of force occasionally.
- Subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions.
- The worker is subject to hazards such as moving parts, moving vehicles, etc.
Intern Requirements and Qualifications
• High school degree or equivalent; must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program to receive credit
• Proficient computer skills
• Must be 18 years of age
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-directed and able to work without supervision
• Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
