Our team is seeking a Medical Provider [full time or part time, and hybrid] to provide whole-person care to people struggling with addiction. This includes treatment of substance use disorders in our opioid use disorder (OUD) and alcohol use disorder (AUD) programs, providing medication-assisted treatment in collaboration with our behavioral health team. Through our Responsive Care services, you will provide comprehensive medical and mental health services to our members, similar in scope to urgent and primary care services. In this role, you will interact with clients and families, referral sources, field staff, and members of the local medical community. You will be a resource for clients and community partners, guiding them on the path to recovery. You will work side by side with our licensed counselors, helping our clients find their way. Your work is essential to the client and your constant feedback will be expected to help them have the best outcome possible. Your vital work will allow clients to receive quality care in their communities and help make a better life within reach.

Your work will be mostly remote through telemedicine, with opportunities to provide in-person care at partner sites in the community. We offer access to care to our members between the hours of 9 am to 8 pm Monday through Friday, and from 12 PM to 4 PM on Saturdays. 

Responsibilities for Medical Providers include, but are not limited to:

  • Medical evaluations and initiation of medication assisted treatment for AUD and OUD
  • Diagnosing and treating medical and mental health complaints at the level of a primary or urgent care provider
  • Co-facilitating group therapy and medical education sessions with a licensed counselor
  • Demonstrating and communicating the core values of Better Life Partners
  • Participating in Better Life Partners and their community research and public health partners research and data collection efforts
  • Collaborating with community partners and Better Life Partners’ licensed counselors on case management and care coordination efforts
  • Adhering to professional and ethical work standards
  • Maintaining compliance with Federal, state, and local regulations
  • Attending and engaging in regular training and company meetings

Qualifications for a Medical Provider:

  • Vermont License as a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Medical Doctor/Doctor of Osteopathy (additional state licenses in (New Hampshire, Maine, and/or Massachusetts a plus)
  • Active DEA and Buprenorphine X-Waiver in states in which you hold a license
  • Several years of experience in practice of addiction medicine or psychiatry, primary or urgent care
  • Strong affinity with and compassion for people and community suffering from addiction
  • Willingness to travel locally in NH/VT/ME/MA
  • Excellent time management and strong attention to detail
  • Exceptionally strong work ethic
  • Team player with an “all hands on deck” attitude, organized and able to multitask
