What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Development Specialist position at Better Together Worcester Family Support Center?
The Child Development Specialist is responsible for the overall management, coordination and administration of the center’s early childhood development program. This includes overseeing all childcare staff, developing and implementing classroom plans that align with the center’s curriculum, and using screenings and assessment tools to track each child’s developmental progress.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the health, safety, and well-being of all children
- Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate program for infants and toddlers, including screenings, assessments, and
- development of children's classroom plans
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge of good teaching practices and of child growth and development.
- Participates in all trainings and program staff meetings provided by Maryland Family Network or sponsoring agency
- Provides parent support and information in their parenting role
- Supervise all childcare staff

Supervisory Qualifications:
- Have a thorough knowledge of growth and development for the first years of life from birth to 3 years and a demonstrated ability to evaluate child development personnel and volunteers
- Ability to provide guidance and direction to staff in curriculum planning and implementation of children's activities.
- Ability to make sound judgments related to interactions between staff, parents, and children and model team leadership skills on matters of child development
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in child development, early childhood education or related field from an accredited institution
- Must have experience working directly with young children from birth to 3 years old with a minimum of one year of supervisory experience.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
