Job Overview: The Cost Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory and cost data to support our manufacturing operations. This role will require a strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across functions. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment and a solid understanding of cost accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain standard costs for all products
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels and production costs to identify opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with the operations team to develop and implement cost reduction strategies
- Prepare and analyze cost reports on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Perform variance analysis to identify areas of cost overruns or savings
- Prepare and support the annual budget process by providing cost projections and recommendations
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
· Adaptable to work role and additionally aid as a resource to other roles.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
- Knowledge of ERP systems, particularly in the areas of inventory management and cost accounting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
