QA/QC Manager

BHI is seeking a QA/QC Manager for a 1 year contract assignment. This position is responsible for all overhaul regional management in the Texas region to include QA/QC oversight processes for all project related engineering and construction related activities including regional outages and overhauls at the power generation plants. The position is intended to provide oversight and the candidate must have technical experience (engineering and construction) to help the company's project leads implement their projects for equipment repairs, equipment fabrication, and installation.

Summary:

Project Overview deliverables (what is this person responsible for). This is a Quality Assurance/Quality Control management role.

• Mainly internal for the staff, however, this role does also spend significant time interfacing with suppliers and the supply chain.
• This may apply to multiple projects and disciplines within the company.
• Accountable for coordination of the quality program, tools, process and standards with plant directors, project managers, project leads and overhaul management staff.
• Responsible for ensuring that there is good oversight on vendors and contractors that install and repair equipment for the plants.
• Will developing inspection and test plans for oversight of project activities, again, making sure that this role has good oversight on the client's vendors and contractors when they perform fabrication or when they come into the plants to install equipment.
• The candidate will also coordinate other inspection personnel within construction services.
• Implement and manage quality construction standards for all major capital projects including O&M.
• This role is within a small, support organization.
• Candidate will also be responsible for following the process to obtain 3rd party inspectors for fabrication and repair of equipment.

Qualifications / Education / Experience:

A Technical degree but an engineering degree preferred.

Must have at least 4 years commercial power plant experience.

• MS Project, MS Office suite in addition to Visio.
• Heavy spreadsheet and Word use in addition to PDF.
• Must have experience with SAP.
• Would prefer Utility QA/QC experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Must have technical knowledge of plant and project equipment -
• Must also understand how contracts work (vendor requirements).
