Summary/Objective
The Vice President of Quality & Risk Management and Compliance is responsible for overseeing all Quality and Risk Management activities for the facility, including, but not limited to, Regulatory Compliance, Medical Malpractice Management, Peer Review/Reappointment, Contract Management, and Insurance Applications and Claims.
Essential Job Duties

- Oversees Quality Management activities in the hospital including, but not limited to: Hospital Wide QA/PI Program, Regulatory Compliance, Peer Review/Reappointment, and State and Federal required reporting. Serves as a resource/educator for Quality activities to hospital and medical staff.
- Oversees Risk Management activities in the hospital including, but not limited to: Medical Malpractice Management, Contract Management, Insurance Applications and Claims. Serves as a resource/educator for Risk activities to hospital and medical staff.
- As a member of the Senior Administrative Team, required to participate in Strategic Planning, Financial Review, Medical Staff Oversight, and as Administrator on Call.
- Oversees Corporate Compliance and the overall regulatory environment including the legal requirements with which the organization must comply; periodically reviews and updates the Code of Ethics and Conduct policy. Oversees a hotline function to evaluate and respond to complaints, allegations, and problems without fear of retribution. Serves as a resource/educator for Corporate Compliance activities to hospital and medical staff.
- Attends and reports to multiple hospital and medical staff committees and ad hoc focused groups for Process Management, Incident Management, Medical Staff Peer Review/Reappointment, Contract Management, Claims Management, Quality goals including Hospital Compare, Value-Based Purchasing and Leapfrog.
- Supervises Patient Advocacy/Complaint & Grievance Process
Required Education and Experience
Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related Masters in Nursing Degree, 5 – 10 years of related experience in Regulatory Compliance, Medical Malpractice Management, Peer Review/Reappointment, Contract Management, and Insurance Applications and Claims.
Required License/Certifications
Must hold current Texas RN license or have the ability to be licensed in the State of Texas
