Our Event Solutions Group is seeking 2 Group Air Consultants. The Group Air Consultant is responsible for issuing airline tickets and assisting participants with extension requests. They are also responsible for managing the program's air budget. This position requires a customer service focus and a positive, enthusiastic personality. Successful candidates are excellent at multi-tasking, strong and contributing team members with sharp attention to detail.
Roles & Responsibilities
Maintain department billing spreadsheet and submit billing paperwork.
Negotiate and manage group air block and contracts, inventory management.
Re-cost air on each program at regular intervals.
Route passengers to group destination utilizing negotiated fares.
Manage participant and VIP requests.
Issue airline tickets and itineraries.
Participate in planning meetings with account team and customers.
Field and manage all attendee air travel questions, extension requests, and frequently asked questions via phone and email.
Prepare for and present attendee information at briefing meeting prior to event operation.
Participate in and gather data for debrief and account review meetings.
Abide by BIW and customer corporate registration and security guidelines.
Work overtime and non-traditional hours to support deadlines and customer requests.
Train and mentor new Group Air Consultants.
Keep department working documentation up to date.
Provide departmental support as requested by Director.
Skills & Abilities
Organized and ability to manage multiple tasks with an attention to detail
GDS experience but not required (Amadeus preferred).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Above average customer service skills.
Education/Experience Required
3 years business experience.
Advanced MS Office skills.
Some previous business experience required. Air Ticketing, Planning, or similar experience in a corporate or 3rd party setting preferred but not required.
