Summary:
Responsible for construction of all substation components including but not limited to-
Verifying blueprints and specifications for installation of equipment & materials.
Equipment operation and training for installation/excavations.
Layout/ Installation of below grade grounding and conduit.
Layout/ Installation of trenwa system.
Installation of steel and electric equipment.
Installation of junction boxes and lighting.
Understanding AC/DC system installation needs for equipment and materials.
Verification control system status/needs.
Installation of static wire and string bus. Including Bolted/Compression fittings.
Installation of Bus and Jumpers- Including Bolted/Compression fittings.
Pulling and installation of electrical wiring.
Termination of power and control cable.
Termination of MV cable.
Assist Electrical commissioning team.
In this role journeyman help teach the skills necessary for ground up electrical substation construction and maintenance. Journeyman will teach others about their knowledge in electrical safety, electrical theory, heavy equipment operations, conduit and grounding systems, structural steel, electrical conductors, electrical equipment, and control circuits.
Employee must be able to self-handle/maintain components up to 50 pounds.
