Position Title: Christian Education Leader
Church: ONEMOVEMENT Bible Church
Location: 10120 Hartsook Street, Houston, Texas, 77034
Reports To: Staff Director
Employment Status: Part-Time
Purpose: The Christian Education Leader is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the educational ministries of the church. This includes the spiritual formation of all age groups, ensuring that the teaching and learning within the church align with biblical principles and the church's mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vision and Leadership:
- Develop and articulate a comprehensive vision for Christian education that aligns with the church’s mission and vision.
- Provide leadership and direction for all educational programs, including Sunday school, Bible studies, small groups, and other teaching ministries.
- Equip and mentor leaders and volunteers to effectively teach and guide others in their spiritual growth.
- Program Development:
- Design, implement, and evaluate a curriculum that is biblically sound, engaging, and appropriate for various age groups and learning styles.
- Oversee the selection and purchase of educational materials and resources.
- Develop new educational initiatives and programs in response to the needs of the congregation and community.
- Volunteer Recruitment and Training:
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers and teachers for all educational programs.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for volunteers to enhance their teaching skills and spiritual growth.
- Administrative Duties:
- Develop and manage the Christian education budget.
- Maintain records of attendance, program participation, and other relevant data.
- Ensure that all educational activities comply with the church’s policies and procedures, including child safety protocols.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the pastoral staff and other ministry leaders to integrate educational activities with the broader life of the church.
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and the congregation about educational programs and opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive environment among educational staff and volunteers.
- Spiritual Growth and Development:
- Encourage and facilitate personal and communal spiritual growth through educational programs.
- Provide opportunities for prayer, worship, and fellowship within the educational context.
- Be a visible and active participant in the life of the church, modeling a vibrant and mature Christian faith.
Qualifications:
- A strong and mature Christian faith, with a deep commitment to the Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ.
- A bachelor’s degree in Christian education, Theology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience in educational ministry, preferably within a church setting.
- Strong organizational, administrative, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people.
- Passion for teaching and discipling others in their faith journey.
Working Conditions:
- Regular attendance at Sunday services and church events.
- Availability for meetings, trainings, and events outside of regular office hours.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and sometimes demanding environment, balancing multiple priorities.
Evaluation:
- Performance will be evaluated annually by the Senior Pastor based on the fulfillment of responsibilities, the growth and effectiveness of the educational programs, and the overall contribution to the church’s mission and vision.
