Position Summary: The primary responsibility of the Fiscal Coordinator is to record every financial transaction in our accounting software. You’ll be in charge of making the checks and managing payments to provide housing for houseless community members and direct assistance for families affected by COVID, and you’ll support our housing developments by closely tracking expenses. You’ll also manage payroll to make sure every employee gets paid on time and oversee the use of credit cards. As you can see, this is an essential position and one that keeps Bienestar running smoothly!
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Enters all financial transactions into QuickBooks accounting software
- Makes checks weekly and oversees the use of ACH and other types of payments for many types of expenses
- Reconciles credit cards monthly and manages petty cash
- Works with direct service staff to document and provide direct assistance (rent, utilities, food, etc.) to the community
- Processes payroll bi-monthly and records expenses related to staff benefits
- Manages financial record keeping for the organization
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/ Experience:
- Associates or bachelor’s degree with course work in accounting or finance.
- OR 2 years of related work experience in accounting or finance
Required skills (Communication/Language; Mathematical; Computer; etc.):
- Experience with QuickBooks and HubDoc software
- OR ability to learn new software and flexibility to adopt different workflows
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organization skills and an attention to detail
- High level of integrity and an ability to commit to ethical behavior
- Spanish-English bilingual strongly preferred
Working Conditions: This is a half-time (20 hours a week) non-exempt position. Hours may be flexible but typically between 8:30 and 5 pm on weekdays. A typical week will require at least two half-days in the Bienestar office in Hillsboro and the rest of the time may be worked remotely. For office work, Bienestar commits to reasonable precautions given the ongoing COVID pandemic. The safety and health of our employees is a priority.
