Hours: 5:30 pm-5:30 am rotating shifts - 5 on/ 5 off/ 2 on/ 2 off
Responsibilities and Duties
- Monitors boiler operation through the use of monitors, making necessary adjustments to equipment to ensure boiler remains burning and safe boiler pressures are maintained
- Ensures that consistent heat is delivered to each of the kilns for proper drying of lumber
- Follow work instructions and monitor equipment performance
- Identify and communicate production and quality concerns
- Ensure safe work practices and follow safety procedures
- Maintain good industrial housekeeping at workstation and work areas.
- Follow all Biewer safe work practices & procedures
- Cross train in the kilns after trained in the Boiler
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid drivers license
- Climb and descend a flight of stairs many times per day
- Bend and lift up to 50 lbs
- Manipulate hand tools such as a pike pole
- Follow work instructions and monitor equipment performance
- Basic computer skills and knowledge
- Identify and communicate production and quality concerns
- Ensure safe work practices and follow safety procedures
- Maintain good industrial housekeeping at workstation and work areas.
