JOB BRIEF:
We are looking for a skilled Waiter or Waitress to take orders and deliver food and beverages to our customers. The right Waiter/Waitress uplifts the dining experience for customers. We are looking for someone who will have the patience, personality and perseverance to thrive in this role. Waiter/Waitress responsibilities include greeting and serving customers, providing detailed information on menus, multi-tasking various front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house duties as well as collecting the bill. If you are able to perform well in fast-paced environments, we’d like to meet you. To be a successful Waiter or Waitress, you should be polite with our customers and make sure they enjoy their meals. You should also be a team player and be able to effectively communicate with our Kitchen Staff to make sure orders are accurate and delivered promptly.

We at Big Bull have found that a sociable person will always excel more as a waiter / waitress than someone who keeps to themselves. Especially when it comes to tips.
Being a waiter / waitress may require you to get out of your shell a little more than you’re used to.
Some other requirements of the position:
- Greet guest the Big Bull Way ( upon entering the establishment and leaving the establishment)
- Set up tables (e.g lay silverware & glassware)
- Inform diners of specials
- Take drink orders
- Pour wine for diners
- Check diners that order alcoholic beverages are of legal drinking age
- Prepare drinks
- Answer questions about menu items
- Make recommendations on request
- Take food orders
- Communicate order details to the kitchen staff
- Maintain a constant line of communication with kitchen staff during service
- Make sure diners are enjoying their meal
- Ask diners if they’d like dessert
- Clean tables when diners have finishing eating
- Process customer bills
- Thank diners when they leave
- Arrange tables and dining areas
- Food preparation (e.g. salads, cold dishes, coffee, desserts)
- Answer phones to take reservations & takeaway orders
- Stock serving stations (e.g. with tableware,)
- Performing cleaning duties (e.g. sweeping, mopping, taking out the trash)
Keep in mind that Waiter/Waitress duties require working shifts on days, evenings, weekends, some holidays and when events are in town. This position is like most restaurant positions nights and weekends are when the restaurant makes most money and tips so that's when we expect you to be present / available. THIS IS A FULL TIME POSITION.
Ultimately, it is the duty of our Waiters/Waitresses to provide an excellent overall dining experience for our guests. Big Bull's food and portions sell themselves so come make some money with us.
