This position: is an Electrical and Automation position: responsible for Programming, editing, updating PLC (TIA Portal), Remote I/O’s, HMI - WinCC, VFD’s Soft starts, Semicode relays & Generator Logic of the Water treatment Systems.
Developing new automation technologies for manufacturing processes or improving existing technologies, making detailed drawings of machinery or other structures according to specifications provided by engineers. Clear understanding of IBA/Scada, be able to trend and diagnose problems and solve.
Participating in ongoing cross training activities within the organization. Oversees all installations of electronic devices throughout the production processes and factory, ensuring conformance to specifications. Provides immediate response to equipment malfunctions.
Ability to conceive, design, install, start-up and commission small/large scale automation/control improvement projects and support larger scale capital projects implemented at sites
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure Safety, Environmental, Quality requirements and “where applicable” Responsible Steel requirements are followed.
Coordinate maintenance activities to troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance, and repair all complex electrical and automation equipment of the WTS areas.
Work directly with all electrical / mechanical and operations personnel, in a fast-paced environment to help develop a safety focused and maintain a positive and efficient work environment focused on safety and reliability.
Facilitating a seamless working relationship between all members of the BRS maintenance teams.
Qualifications:
Demonstrates safety focus and willingness to proactively apply it in a team environment
Quality and detail oriented with strong technical and analytical problem-solving skills
Reliable person with superior communication skills
Highly motivated, self-directed, and willing to put in extra hours when needed
Minimum 5 years of electrical and automation experience
Ability to use MS Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook proficiently; knowledge of Guide TI is a plus
Power Bi) Experience reading electrical blueprints and understanding of TIA Portal S7 1500 7 - WinCC (HMI). Experience in a production environment, particularly as it relates to automation technology. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. VMWare is a plus.
HS diploma or equivalent is required; a technical certificate in Steel or Industrial Technology or closely related field is preferred
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Environment is typical for a steel mill production area, with extreme temperatures, high noise levels and dusty/ greasy areas. Physically demanding work will be required in the production environment
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does supervise others.
