BikeHub operates multiple locations in the Bay Area for BART and Caltrain. Berkeley Bike Station offers free valet bicycle parking, supervised by staff mechanics, to offer repair service during a bike's natural downtime - while it's securely parked! Our cafe operations partner runs a Mini Cafe to complement our Mini Retail/Repair facility for our bicycle parking patrons!
We’re hiring for a Station Manager. Regular work days will be Monday through Friday, with weekends off. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401k with employer matching, a great discount on bike parts, and profit sharing.
The Station Manager will directly oversee shop operations: staffing, repairs, inventory tracking, and the day-to-day tasks that keep the shop running along. The manager will also assist in parking bikes and taking in repairs during commute rush periods.
Station Manager Requirements:
- Manage inventory, order parts & shop supplies.
- Oversee a staff of 3 or more - both mechanics and valets.
- Maintain a clean and positive work area.
- Communicate regularly with our offsite admin team.
Qualifications:
- Experience working as a bike mechanic in a professional capacity.
- Genuine excitement about bicycle transportation and new mobility. Tell us about it!
- Digital Proficiency: Digital POS, Google drive suite.
- Adaptability: this position is responsible for a wide variety of tasks, including service mechanic, inventory tracking, staff scheduling and retail sales.
- Independence: The admin team is here to support you, but station managers have a lot of autonomy within the shop.
BikeHub Staff Requirements:
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers, colleagues and supervisors.
- The ability to stand, bend, stoop, lift up to 55 pounds.
- This position may require hours that exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week.
- Adherence to all BikeHub protocols and procedures.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required for this position.
