About the Role
We are looking for an Aircraft Records Specialist to administer record-keeping processes, policies, and procedures. This role will be responsible for maintaining computerized and paper tracking systems and records. The Aircraft Records Specialist reports to the Quality Manager. This is a full-time position located in Billings, Montana.
About Billings Flying Service
Billings Flying Service (BFS) is a solutions provider for the aviation industry, specializing in CH-47 aerial firefighting and heavy lift services. The BFS fleet of seven CH-47Ds, one UH-60A, and two Bell 206Ls are capable of fighting wildfires by either bucket or tank.
Requirements
What You'll Do
- Update maintenance programs and records to ensure tracking compliance
- Implement and manage day to day Aircraft Records and associated processes for each aircraft (i.e., aircraft daily logs, airframe logbook, engines logbooks, component records, airworthiness directives etc.)
- Maintain historical data, records, individual files, and logbooks pertinent to aircraft indefinitely
- Work with other maintenance sections to produce aircraft maintenance forecasts, inspection packages, schedules etc. as needed
- Assure safety and housekeeping rules are followed
- Other duties and responsibilities as required
Your Required Qualifications
- Ability to think analytically and be a problem solver
- Skill to gain detailed knowledge of various CMTS, FARs, inspection programs, USFS requirements
- Ability and willingness to learn complex processes, systems, or policies related to aviation maintenance
- Professional and effective verbal/written communication
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in records/maintenance tracking or tracking of similarly critical processes (preferred)
- Previous relevant experience in the aviation industry (preferred)
- Already possess working knowledge of FARs and USFS regulations and requirements (preferred)
- Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license (preferred)
