What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laundry Supervisor - Full Time position at Biltmore Estate?
Minimum pay is $19.06/hr; additional compensation will be considered for candidates with higher amounts of experience above the minimum requirements. Full Time: a position working 35 hours per week.
The Laundry Supervisor will be responsible for daily operations and will ensure quality control and inventory standards are met. This position will inspect the quality of cleanliness, and will work with staff to deliver world class service to guests. The incumbent will also supervise the laundry staff; handle scheduling; troubleshoot issues; work with estate contacts to develop pick-ups/delivery schedule; etc. In addition, this position will be responsible for assisting with staff evaluations; purchasing and inventory control; shrinkage/loss management; and supporting the management team with budgeting and administrative duties.
Schedules can vary, but are generally between 7:00AM-3:30PM

Essential Job Duties:
- Supervise the budget for personnel and supplies.
- Maintains tracking and inventory for damage/loss.
- Inspects for quality control according to established standards
- Formulates plans for improving laundry services and efficiencies
- Recommends and initiates the purchase of all supplies.
- Recommends and initiates the purchase of cleaning equipment pertinent to laundry operations.
- Trains staff on standards and procedures and performs inspections to verify quality.
- Establishes procedures and work methods.
- Initiates and maintains productivity records.
- Maintain a sound inter-departmental working relationships.
- Directs supervision front line employees.
- Arranges for the maintenance and repairs of all equipment; troubleshoots where needed/appropriate.
- Leads training programs.
- Assist with interviews and selection of new staff members
- Assists with the performance management of staff
- Ensure, staff are abiding by all safety rules and regulations OSHA compliance
- Prevent costly accidents and promote Safety and Fire Prevention. Stay up to date on latest Safety Requirements.
- Build relationships with tenants in all facilities
- Complete all necessary administrative work related to receipt, processing, delivery, inspections, etc.
- Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress

Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least two years of related experience in a commercial/industrial laundry and/or housekeeping environment required. Previous experience working in upscale properties/facilities with an emphasis on quality standards is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and/or previous supervisory experience.
- Proficiency for in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to learn budgeting and procurement software/systems required.
- Proven commitment to quality and delivering world class service, and the ability to motivate staff to do the same.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to operate commercial laundry machinery and equipment.
- The ability to effectively multi-task, organize, plan, and prioritize is an essential function of this job.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and take initiative where appropriate.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must have English language comprehension, writing, and speaking skills, and be able to respond appropriately to requests and inquires. Knowledge of a second language helpful.
- Ability to provide clear directions and instructions.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift, carry and pull/push up to 50 -75 lbs on a regular basis; ability to pull/push up to 100 pounds occasionally.
- Requires standing/walking/bending/stooping throughout the shift (8 hours).
- Must be able to bend, reach, and kneel.
- Ability to twist/grip items.
- Must be able to respond to visual and audible cues, and understand and address issues as needed.
- Must be able to work with varying noise levels.
- Have the ability to work in warm/hot temperatures.
