Business Development Manager, Companion Diagnostics (CDx)
The Opportunity
Bio-Techne empowers researchers in Life Science and Clinical Diagnostics by providing high-quality reagents, instruments, custom manufacturing, and testing services. With the recent acquisitions of Asuragen and ExosomeDx, Bio-Techne has expanded its presence in the molecular diagnostics space. The combination of these businesses into a single Molecular Diagnostics Division provides a set of core capabilities and unique technologies ranging from biomarker discovery to international regulatory expertise and the ability to launch innovative products as both kitted products for international distribution as well as centralized laboratory developed tests. This division unifies the processes of offering these capabilities and those of the broader Bio-Techne family of brands to pharma partners for projects ranging from biomarker discovery and assay development to full companion diagnostic development and commercialization.
The Business Development Manager, CDx, will be responsible for developing and supporting high-value opportunities and strategic pharma partnerships and bringing brand awareness of Bio-Techne’s capabilities in the Companion Diagnostics area.
What You’ll Do
- Build a strong pipeline of new business development partnerships and identify opportunities for developing strategic relationships with new and existing biopharma partners by actively prospecting and qualifying opportunities and positioning Bio-Techne technologies and capabilities
- Support management of a portfolio of strategic partners and lead ideation for new partnership opportunities by working closely with the Companion Diagnostics Scientific team to meet annual revenue targets
- Work closely with the Director of Business Development to execute on the CDx strategy and vision
- Identify emerging trends, growth opportunities and solutions to grow Bio-Techne’s pharma partnerships
- Work with divisional and cross organizational marketing teams to promote Bio-Techne’s capabilities and technologies to pharma, biotech and medical device communities through various venues including conferences, webinars, advertising, and social media
- Role will require up to 25% travel
Qualifications
Who You Are & What You Bring
- Demonstrated success in business development in the diagnostic, pharmaceutical or biotech industry, preferably in companion diagnostics
- Understanding of the co-development process for CDx and the associated R&D, clinical, regulatory and commercial frameworks preferred
- Familiarity with molecular diagnostics and pharmaceutical development and the major relevant underlying technologies
- Ability to seek, drive, and execute long term, revenue driven opportunities in the pharma and biotech sector
- Previous experience of presenting to key decision makers on business solutions and service offerings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated success working on a cross-functional team and leading commercial teams
- Results-driven with demonstrated ability to find solutions to achieve company goals in an effective, efficient manner
- Enthusiasm for domestic and international travel as required to support active projects
- Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 4 years business development experience
