About This Role
Biogen is seeking an experienced attorney with a strong background in healthcare law to be the lead attorney providing strategic advice on commercial, regulatory and healthcare compliance issues affecting the marketing and sale of one or more of the company’s products and product candidates.
This position reports to the Head of Legal for US and will be based at the company’s US commercial headquarters in Weston, MA with a move to Cambridge, MA in January 2024.
What You'll Do
- Counseling on laws applicable to pharmaceutical promotion and sales, PhRMA code and promotional practices, risk management and mitigation, general commercial transactional matters and government and managed care contracting support.
- The position also may have responsibility for related commercial support functions including Patient Services, Patient Advocacy and Social Media.
- This attorney will serve as a strategic business partner to the respective brand team(s) by providing clear legal advice and practical business-focused solutions enabling the business to achieve its objectives while preserving and protecting the company’s integrity and reputation both in the US and around the globe.

Qualifications
Required Skills
- 7 years minimum experience in the bio/pharma life sciences department of a biotech or pharmaceutical company and 10 years legal experience overall.
- Strong technical background in the commercialization of pharmaceutical products in the US and globally.
- Experience with materials review process, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Strong communication, relationship management, analytical skills, and the ability to work in a matrix organization.
- Able to work independently and to prioritize multiple demands.
- Spoken languages: English fluent.
