About this Role
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Functions Finance, this person will be responsible for all aspects of Accounting and FP&A supporting selected corporate functions. The candidate would be viewed as a trusted business partner, providing decision support by challenging and enlightening the business as to financial impacts of their decisions.
This Manager is expected to drive financial discipline in the organization and should deliver flawless and timely execution of all accounting close and control processes, with commitment to the highest standards of integrity and accuracy.
What You'll Do
Oversee and assist in all aspects of planning, including:
- Management reporting of monthly and quarterly results
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning for respective functions
- Present results and highlight risks and opportunities to functional business partners to ensure informed decisions can be made about activities throughout the year
Provide finance insights to make best decisions for organization and for Biogen
- Drive efficiencies in processes and resource allocation across functions
- Partner with business stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the business cases and financial records.
- Drive continuous process improvement to strive for automation and improved accuracy wherever possible
Provide accounting oversight, including:
- Monthly, quarterly and annual close processes
Who You Are
You have strong analytic abilities and business acumen, including ability to tell an impactful story leveraging data, metrics, and visualization to establish recommendations and convey conclusions. You are comfortable dealing with ambiguity in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in Finance, accounting or audit.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Distinctive quantitative, critical thinking and modeling skills
- Advanced experience with Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong combination of financial and analytical skills
- Strong presentation and written communications and the ability to build productive working relationships with various levels, functions and teams
- Attention to detail, yet proven ability to maintain an “80/20” mindset
- High sense of urgency with the ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
- Proven leadership and interpersonal skills – the ability to collaborate well with others and work cross-functionally across all levels of the organization.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity w/Oracle, Hyperion and Business Objects
- CPA would be advantageous in this role
