Global Development Advisor


As Scientific Research Manager, Global Development Advisor at bioLytical, you will drive key business decisions, deliver on strategic initiatives, and identify value-creation opportunities on an international scale. You will work closely with Commercial, Scientific Affairs, Compliance, and senior leaders to solve complex opportunities to expand our INSTI and iStatis product lines.


You will be responsible for building and implementing strategies to launch new products and features into market facing bias and barriers. This will include making decisions that will optimize our growing market adoption and improving the customer experience.


You will drive forward initiatives with minimal guidance. You communicate effectively up to senior leaders; understanding when, and to whom communications are required. This requires clear, succinct top-down communication that provides bioLytical’s executive leadership with clear direction on decisions required so issues are framed accurately from the market’s point of view.


You will partner a large cross-functional team within bioLytical to find opportunities to accelerate enterprise revenue growth and expansion. Compensation is not based on whether you increased awareness, but whether you have delivered a significant business impact.

Responsibilities:


  • New Product landscape – Preparing business case and market landscape (new product introductions) for bioLytical worldwide including pipeline assessment, market growth projections, local regulations and on ground partnerships for rapid access and scale.
  • Develop/Analyze new product strategies, partnerships, go to market approaches, pricing and features to increase sales velocity and drive customer adoption.
  • Provide research and analysis for senior leadership to support decision-making on growth opportunities, e.g., market share penetration, revenue channels, customer segmentation, market and competitive trends.
  • Stay well informed of internal and external developments, trends, and other dynamics relevant to the research and commercialization of bioLytical to maintain, at all times, a fully current view and perspective of internal/external influences and/or implications for rapid testing of infectious diseases. 
  • Provide leadership guidance and direction regarding competitive intelligence and/or market/industry assessment activities and projects at the global level.
  • Identify, scope, and drive critical projects related to enterprise sales initiatives partnering with cross functional teams across the organization.
  • Advise to sales on pricing, product configuration, and business terms to support the sales effort at the international level. Advise sales on objection handling techniques, alternative contract options, and/or value propositioning to help drive deal closures.
  • Strategy: Assess and decide on strategies to launch and scale new products and programs into the market. Work together with the commercial team to define the roadmap. Develop go-to-market strategies that drive long term product adoption and user growth while meeting revenue goals.
  • Go-to-market execution: Lead and own business development and sales within the global commercialization processes. Iterate approaches and proactively resolve logistical issues of the go-to-market process before they arise.
  • Buyer/Customer-centric prioritization: Own buyer/customer-centric prioritization, making decisions that will optimize towards growing user adoption and improving customer experience and representing the voice of the buyer/customer in strategic decisions.
  • Engage leading Investors/Donors/International organizations/MOHs to support the growth of the market share in public sector and pave the path for pipeline products
  • Quantification and Forecasting – Develop national quantification and forecasting tools for projected markets.
  • Influence: Present findings and recommendations to leadership. Influence key stakeholders to define and adopt appropriate metrics, goals, and processes to achieve business objectives.
  • Actively support compliance with our Quality and Regulatory standards, company policies and best practice in security and legal requirements.
  • Safeguard information, paying particular attention to customer data and other sensitive information.


Qualifications


Formal Education

A Master’s degree in science, health or business required.


Work Experience

  • 10 years of experience in in vitro diagnostics/medical device consulting role.
  • Possesses a global network of strong relationships with ministry/departments of health, consortium partners, donors, and other stakeholders on HIV, Hep C, STI’s, and COVID 19 response initiatives.
  • Knowledge of the Global Infectious Disease Market and relevant Health Service Authorities.
  • Experience developing national quantification and forecasting tools for project markets, including programmatic decision making, intervention scale up, and other supply chain considerations.
  • Proven experience leading the procurement supply chain management (PSM) in the private sector/manufacturer/supplier engagement and global forecasting at the global level for in vitro medical devices.
  • Significant experience in relationship management with proven results for generating leads within government and other stakeholders (NGO, partners, and private sector) at different levels in these organizations to create and maintain collaboration.
  • Business case and market landscape for new product introductions/launches including pipeline assessment, market growth projections, local regulations and on ground partnerships for rapid access and scale.

  • Demonstrable evidence of successfully growing existing market base revenues.
  • Is a confident speaker and comfortable representing bioLytical to external customers with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Is resourceful and organized.
  • Ability to communicate in more than one language is an asset.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50% of each year.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and work with high-level executives.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • To engage in new markets and with multiple partners across the globe


Compensation:

  • Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000 CAD annually
  • Eligible for bonus based on determined key performance indicators
