INJECTION COORDINATOR
Full time, enthusiastic, personable Injection Coordinator with exceptional customer service skills needed for a fast-paced clinic at our corporate location in the Orlando area for providers that specialize in Comprehensive Spine Treatment.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Your duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
· Conduct, monitor, and redirect emails pertaining to anything within the scope of the Injection Coordinator duties, listed in the Injection Coordinator Manual
· Create tasks and add to injections master tracking spreadsheet
· Review office notes and verify patient qualifications upon patient discharge from their office visit, when they are recommended injections or associated procedures
· Review and confirm patient medical history and current patient medications to ensure that they are an appropriate candidate for the corresponding injection/procedure
· Confirm patient symptoms and the need for the injection
· Correctly and accurately notate communications with patients in all company communication portals
· Accurately schedule injections and corresponding appointments (Post operative/Follow Up) under multiple providers, ensuring they are scheduled with the appropriate provider at the correct location
· Advise patients of all scheduled appointments via telephone call, email, and/or SMS message after scheduling, as needed to the discretion of the patients preferred contact method
· Educate patients for pre/post operative procedure expectations and briefly discuss insurance requirements
· Answer questions regarding patient appointments and concerns as needed
· Communicate with the Injection Insurance Coordinator as needed to ensure authorization requirements are met and the process runs smoothly, to avoid rescheduling
· Create Injection Packets prior to patients’ scheduled injection appointment
· Obtain patient preoperative and post operative vitals on scheduled injection appointments
· Prep injection using sterile technique and assist the provider as needed during injection appointments
· Dress wounds appropriately, efficiently, and assist patients as needed, post procedure
· Follow up with patients via preferred method of contact, post injection to ensure patient safety and recovery is going well
QUALIFICATIONS:
· A minimum of 1-year prior medical experience is required
· Professional attitude and appearance
· Solid written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
· Excellent organizational skills
· Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
· Ability to adapt to new protocols and regulations with patient care and scheduling processes
· High school degree or equivalent
· Knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
· Active state or national Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification (preferred)
· BLS Certification (preferred)
· Ability and willingness to travel to other BioSpine locations
