Birch Hill Catering in Schodack, NY is looking for Several additional bartenders to join our 58 person strong team. We are located on 1 Celebration Way. Our ideal candidate is Personable, Friendly, Outgoing, attentive, punctual, and reliable.
A typical Banquet event runs for about 4 - 6 hours, The bar server is normally in about an 1.5 hour early to pre set and be ready . We have events here on our own premises as well as off premises events which carry a premium pay as well as a potentially longer shift . This is both a Hourly pay scale as well as a generally good tipping environment as guest are normally enjoying an open or hosted bar
Responsibilities
- Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages
- Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks
- Assess customers needs and preferences and make recommendations
- Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails
- Plan and present bar menu
- Check customer's identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
- Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
- Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations
Qualifications
- Proven working experience as a bartender
- Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
- Knowledge of a second language will be considered a plus
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean
- Relevant training certificate
