About the Role

Are you passionate about helping clients solve their business problems using the Public Cloud? Are you looking for real ownership on projects and to help shape clients’ technology roadmap in the public cloud?

We’re looking for talented Senior Cloud Solution Architects who want to take the next step in their career and join our Cloud Center of Excellence team.

You’ll be a technical authority at the center of our engagements, managing technical risk and creating real business value.

You’ll be willing to be hands-on when you need to be and seek to balance innovation and intellectual rigor with realism.

You will work with talented, innovative, and creative cloud, data & AI/ML technologists to make the right cloud technology and architecture choices for our clients. You will also lean into your technology knowledge to help define and contribute to our cloud accelerators.

BJSS Senior Cloud Architects are thought leaders, keen to share their thoughts on the latest trends either digitally or in person. They are trusted advisors at the C-suite level adept at using their knowledge to ensure our clients maximize the benefits from their use of cloud technology.

This role will be mainly based in Columbus, Ohio linked with our Houston, Texas office.

About You

You’ll bring extensive cloud and technology experience gained through a combination of industry and consulting roles. You will be comfortable developing and strengthening peer-to-peer level relationships at all levels with our clients.

Ideally, you will have as much of the following experience as possible:

• Deep experience with the AWS cloud architecture environment on a hands-on basis
• Worked at a major cloud service provider or have had experience working as an internal or external advisor and consultant across industry verticals
• Have demonstrated success in advising and implementing cloud architecture and technologies, preferably across multiple industries
• You have the ability to design detailed architectural blueprints and to implement your designs through IaC tools
• We are proudly multi-cloud, but for this position we are focusing on AWS. However, experience in the Azure and GCP space in addition to the AWS are significant differentiators
• You will have an AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification. Any additional AWS, Azure and / or GCP certifications are also very much of interest to us
• Ideally you will have experience designing and implementing creating cloud architectures from a Well-Architected Framework perspective
• In-depth understanding of the modern cloud architecture stack, including but not limited to SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, Docker/Containers, IaC, CI / CD for AWS and ideally for other public clouds
• Strong understanding of Hybrid cloud, Multi-cloud, Networking, Security, API Management, Security, API Management and similar items
• Ideally, you have some experience with the major cloud Data platform offerings and how to best incorporate them into your cloud design and operations
• Enthusiastic about working in an agile delivery environment
• Comfortable with one or more development languages such as Python, Java, .Net etc. in Linux and Windows environments

You will have a keen interest in tracking the latest trends and technologies, able to translate these into architecture that deliver real business benefits.

• Defining Future State Cloud Architecture
• Defining Cloud migration repeatable patterns
• Defining and supporting teams to adopt Cloud Standard Patterns
• Supporting Migration scheduling & execution (DevOps)
• Knowledge of financial services and/or trading system architecture experience
• Experience of business development activities and developing client accounts
• Strong record of leadership
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Comfortable working effectively with people at all levels in an organization
• Adept at communicating complex ideas effectively
• You have the expertise and confidence to work with a range of partners across diverse business and technology communities
• You have energy and a pragmatic delivery-focused attitude that wins the respect of those around you and makes you a trusted technical advisor
• You love technology and want to keep on learning. You’re genuinely interested in understanding the challenges your users face and how you can help them
