FRN is currently seeking (2) Charge Nurses, to provide medical assessments, monitor patient medications, administer and track TB skin tests, monitor random drug screens and assist the psychiatrists and nurse practitioners as needed. This position will be located at Foundations Recovery Network’s residential treatment facility, Black Bear Lodge in Sautee, Georgia.
Qualifications
Position Summary
Responsible for assessing consumer’s medical needs, monitoring medications, administering and tracking TB skin tests, monitoring random drug screens, and assisting psychiatrist/MD/nurse practitioner as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees medical screening and/or assessment of new clients immediately upon admission according to level of care procedures.
- Oversees and monitors medication process for individuals living in residential facilities including supervision of medication distribution, supervising self-administration process.
- Oversees nursing staff with preparation and administering of Medication Administration Record (MAR).
- Oversees and provides on-going consumer education (group and individual) regarding medications.
- Oversees and implements and monitor procedures for random urine drug screens to ensure that each individual is screened as appropriate.
- Oversees and ensures that test results are documented in medical file and with patient’s clinician.
- Participates in weekly staff and clinical meetings.
- Cross-trains and supports other divisions as needed or requested by supervisor.
- Delegates daily assignments to nursing staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to inspire client confidence in the FRN Staff and the FRN Model of Treatment.
- Ability to consistently demonstrate through conduct and communications the stability required to effectively assist patients and their family members through the FRN Model of Treatment.
- Ability to perform Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) waived testing.
- Demonstrates a broad base of knowledge in psychiatric and addiction treatment and administration.
- Ability to build relationships with diverse individuals and groups.
- Understands need for and maintains appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with patients, residents, families, visitors, referral sources and all other contacts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Must have general knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality.
Understanding of diverse cultures and gender specific issues and the ability to incorporate needs of gender and culturally diverse groups into the organization.
Education and Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required.
- Unencumbered State of Georgia or Multi State Compact RN License.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in psychology/psychiatry or related field preferred.
