Position Summary - Wet Plant Operator
The Wet Plant Operator position requires an understanding of all equipment, job duties, and personnel involved in maintaining product flow through mine wet plant. The position requires hands-on operation of the equipment and the on-board computer and equipment automation systems. This position will be expected to adhere to all safety regulations and practice safe operations at all times.
Essential Functions - Wet Plant Operator
• Completes pre-shift inspections and JSA’s, and interfaces with relief operator for any updates, instructions and changes.
• Operates wet plant equipment including relevant computer systems and control panels, pumps, valves, cyclones, density hydrosizers, attritions scrubbers, and flotation equipment; reports any malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
• Monitors aggregate flow through the wet plant, recording and reporting processing rate.
• Anticipates and troubleshoots significant changes in processing rate and elevates to management as appropriate.
• Assists with general plant housekeeping including the clearing of waste sand accumulation.
Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Wet Plant Operator
• Sufficient education to complete written documentation and records; or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills and characteristics.
• Must be able to perform basic mathematical equations and use basic hand tools, measuring tools, labor tools.
• Must have Basic maintenance skills sufficient to inspect equipment and complete minor repairs as required.
• Previous sand plant or oilfield experience is preferred.
• Must have effective communication skills; ability to speak and write.
• Must have team player attitude with high-level of self-motivation requiring minimal supervision.
• Must be willing to work any shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays as nature of plant schedule may fluctuate.
• Must be able to wear a respirator and other required personal protective equipment.
• Must be authorized to work in the US and be at least 18 years of age.
Position Summary - Dry Plant Operator
The Dry Plant Operator is responsible for general housekeeping of the dry plant, using equipment to clean spills and or piles and disposing of properly; using shovels in areas equipment cannot operate. The Dry Plant Operator will report to the Production Supervisor and work closely with the Dry Plant Lead Operator for all tasks for their shift in order to maintain compliance with MSHA regulations. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who enjoys the challenges of dry plant operations with the operations team.
Essential Functions - Dry Plant Operator
• Identify needs and equipment status in pre-shift inspections and inspect
• Collaborate with Dry Plant Lead Operator and production supervisors on the type of work needed and the best methods for work to be performed; evaluate and review necessary procedures, materials, labor and resource material needed
• General housekeeping of the dry plant to include the use of equipment like shovels to maintain clear walkways and work areas free of trash and excess sand.
• Conduct manual silo readings to ensure accurate measurement of product ready for customers
• Work with Maintenance for general maintenance and repairs on dry plant equipment
• Communicate with Dry Plant Board Operators as necessary for any adjustments or suggestions for keeping dryers operational
• Ensuring areas that commonly get filled or buried in sand stay clear of
• Escalate issues to Dry Plant Lead Operator and Production Supervisor that fall outside of when additional consult or support is needed
• Assist in other areas of the plant when needed
Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Dry Plant Operator
• Six (6) months prior experience in sand operations or relatable operations is required; one (1) year prior experience with sand plant production related is preferred
• Exceptional communication, both written and oral, and interpersonal abilities; organization and attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to use mobile equipment like skid steers, manlifts and SkyTraks required.
• Ability to work both tactically and strategically
Physical Requirements - Dry Plant Operator
• Frequently shoveling sand with a shovel
• Occasionally driving a skid steer on the dry plan
• Frequently lifting 75 pound screens over head
• Frequently swinging a 20 pound sledgehammer
• Occasionally lifting 40 pound boxes of Rotex balls
• Frequently bending over, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders
Position Summary - Loadout Operator
The Loadout position requires an understanding of all equipment, job duties, and personnel involved in ensuring proper loading of product from the mine silos to trucks. The position is primarily responsible for facilitating the loadout process of customer and third-party trucks. This position will be expected to adhere to all safety regulations and practice safe operations at all times.
Essential Functions - Loadout Operator
• Completes pre-shift inspections and JSA’s, and interfaces with relief operator for any updates, instructions and changes.
• Opens hatches and inspects in-bound trucks in preparation for loadout.
• Interfaces with drivers including effectively communicating electronic swipe card process, inspecting in-bound containers for contaminants, and troubleshooting purchase order issues including elevating to supervisor when appropriate.
• Connects fill-tubes to hatches and, following purchase order parameters, correctly loads trucks and directs to out-bound gates.
• Assists out-bound drivers with relevant issues and ensure efficient flow of traffic out of loadout area.
• Communicates with Foreman, and fellow Load-Out Operators to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Assists with general plant housekeeping including the clearing of waste sand accumulation.
