Location: Telework (With ability to report to 8400 Corporate Drive, Landover, MD, as needed)

Status: Full-time

Position Summary:

Responsible for abstracting documents, providing a brief summary of research articles, some of which have limited information, and assigning related descriptor terms to the document. An abstract will be written in clear complete sentences using terminology that describes specific details such as participants, methodologies, interventions, results, and conclusions. Each record must be assigned at least 3 or more descriptor terms that reflect the major concepts in the article. Bibliographic data such as title, author, journal title, location, URL, descriptors terms and other data will be entered into the database. Other duties related to library collection maintenance are assigned as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Exceptional reading and comprehension skills.
• Demonstrate good analytical and research skills.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Experience with proofreading and editing.
• Attention to detail with strong spelling and grammar skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

• Analyze and summarize articles and provide a clear, concise description of the article.
• Enter bibliographic data into database and assign appropriate descriptor terms.
• Provide editorial support including reviewing, proofing, and archiving newsletters, assisting in citation analysis and other quality control tasks.

Work Conditions:

• Work is performed primarily from a home office, with some office work.
