Job Summary:
Blavity, Inc. is seeking an Associate Director, Data Intelligence to implement a data infrastructure that utilizes advanced analytical solutions to generate insights about our audience, clients, campaigns, and partners and their behavior to deepen our audience engagement. The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial appetite for making Blavity, Inc. the leading provider of first-party data on Black Millennials and the Gen-Z Audience. This is a role with significant opportunity for career advancement and ownership.
This role will report directly to the COO.
Responsibilities:
- Own and drive adoption of critical new projects for the company such as a data clean room, customer data platform, and data lake
- Work closely with Commerce & Engineering teams to collect first-party data from our commerce brands, extract insights and develop consumer profiles
- Work with complex data structures and produce easy-to-understand, error-free, and timely deliverables that analyze user behavior online to provide actionable insights that address business objectives
- Independently own strategic initiatives that strengthen and elevate Blavity, Inc. analytics offering, including designing, executing, and productizing custom analyses that support client business objectives, onboarding new data partners and tools, and reimagining legacy approaches to D&A tasks
- Champion a data-driven culture and drive long-term business value creation through the development of best-in-class analytics capabilities
- Apply statistics, clustering, modeling, and machine learning algorithms to complex business problems
Qualifications:
- Education: BA
- Required Experience:
- 6 years experience in Data Science or Intelligence
- Additional Qualifications:
- Strong ability to condense complex concepts and analysis into clear and concise takeaways that drive action
- Experience with large datasets, statistical analyses, data visualization
- Strong experience with marketing analytics (campaign/experiment planning and execution)
- Full-stack experience in data collection, aggregation, analysis, visualization, productionalization, and monitoring of data science products
- Strong ability to manage priorities across multiple stakeholders
- A healthy appreciation of GIFs and Black culture
Details: This is a fully remote role, occasional travel may be required. Candidates must be available to work at least 50% in alignment with the Pacific Time Zone.
