Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' speech, language, and communication skills, and diagnose communication disorders or delays.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and intervention strategies to address students' specific speech and language needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students in both individual and group settings, targeting their speech and language goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement strategies to support students' communication skills in the classroom and other educational settings.
- Utilize a variety of evidence-based techniques and resources to improve students' articulation, language comprehension, expressive language, fluency, and social communication skills.
- Monitor and document student progress, regularly updating treatment plans and providing progress reports to parents, teachers, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing to the development of appropriate goals and accommodations for students with communication disorders.
- Provide support and guidance to teachers and other staff members regarding speech and language development and strategies for fostering communication skills in the classroom.
- Stay informed about current research, best practices, and technological advancements in the field of speech-language pathology.
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and maintain licensure and certification requirements.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited program.
- Current license or eligibility for licensure in Speech-Language Pathology in the state of California.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), preferred.
- Experience working as an SLP in a school setting is desirable.
- Knowledge of various assessment tools, therapy techniques, and interventions for a wide range of speech and language disorders.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with students and their families.
- Proficient documentation and organizational skills to maintain accurate records of student progress and treatment plans.
