B.L. Harbert International is looking for an experienced Recruiter to work in our Arlington, VA office. The candidate will coordinate efforts with our International Group based in Birmingham, Alabama. The Recruiter will work closely with the Recruiting Manager to help source and identify qualified candidates to staff construction projects and support offices around the world. Candidates will be required to source candidates through multiple outlets including, but not limited to: employee networking, professional organizations, colleges and universities, trade schools, trade specific groups and social media. This position is critical in helping the company establish a positive image in the community, building networks and maintaining contacts of candidates.
Responsibilities:
- Recruiting and maintaining qualified pool of candidates
- Assisting with job placement opportunities, resume collection and initial review
- Analyzing the information provided on a prospective employee's application form and determining suitability of the applicant for employment
- Identifying new and creative sourcing methods to expand visibility for qualified candidates
- Building and maintaining relationships with various colleges/universities, groups and organization to help identify candidates and broaden brand recognition
- Assisting with college recruitment efforts
- Writing and placing job advertisements on various outlets
- Completing initial phone screenings
- Ensuring candidates meet contract and project requirements
- Maintaining extensive applicant database with accurate information
- Providing Management with candidate information as requested
- Participating in interviews virtually and in-person
- Completing reference checks of applicants and required paperwork during interview process
- Additional responsibilities as needed
Requirements:
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
- 5 years’ experience in Recruiting
- Basic knowledge of HR rules and regulations in regards to Federal and State Compliance
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook
Preferences:
- 2 years’ experience in Human Resources field preferred
- Construction industry experience
- Experience with HRIS and ATS

- Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments while working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work collaborate and work well on a team
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with people from various backgrounds

Physical Demands:
To perform the duties of this job, the employee must:
- Have the ability to repetitively use hands to grasp, reach above and below with arms, and work overhead
- Have the ability to stoop, bend, walk, kneel, crouch and crawl
- Have the ability to lift, carry and/or move up to 25 lbs. of weight in the form of paper, boxes, files, etc.
- Have the ability to sit for extended periods with occasional standing required
- Possess the manual dexterity to operate office equipment, filing, and perform specialized skills
- Possess a high degree of concentration necessary in a busy office environment
