About Us

Bliss Pet Resort & Spa in Prosper is boutique dog boarding, daycare, and grooming spa looking to add an experienced Bather! Need flexibility to work morning or afternoons at our facility in Prosper. We love to grow and cross train from within! This is a bathing position with an opportunity to train into a Grooming Stylist if interested The Grooming Apprentice training/education will consist of a distance learning program coupled with an assigned mentor 100 percent paid by the company with a 2 year working agreement. Grooming Apprentice program is not required for the Bather position but available for the right candidate.

Hours

Open Availability Monday to Saturday, as needed. Position is part time to full time depending on volume and open availability daily preferred. Generally hours will be from 8am to 3/4pm daily with alternating weekends.

Compensation

$12 hour plus GENEROUS client tips.

Job Description

The Bather position properly bathes, blow dries, and prepares pets for grooming. Follows written instructions to provide grooming services such as brushing teeth, cleaning ears, clipping/dremmel nails, de-sheds, dematting, shaving pads, sanitiary trims, etc as needed for the dogs. Works with the groomer to ensure pets are prepped for grooming according to the clients specifications.

Responsibilities and Duties

Perform quality baths according to Bliss standards and ensure directions are followed for bathing and grooming. Perform basic grooming procedures such as nail clipping, anal gland expression, brushing, ear cleaning, sanitary cuts, and assisting the Groomers. Assist in monitoring health and condition of animal. Efficiently coordinate the bath schedule and maintain the bath board. Provide water to dogs, let dogs out to potty. Manage the bathing facilities including equipment, bring dogs to and from grooming areas. Scoop poop, lots of cleaning in grooming areas and in all areas of the building during down time.

Must maintain a positive relationship between the bathing, grooming team and management team. Understands excellent customer service and delivers. Accurately record and maintain bathing records. Assist clients with check in and check out as needed. Expand proficiency and knowledge through continuous learning. Personal client correspondence (know client name, pet name, pet habits, sensitivities). Ensure client satisfaction for each and every client.

Necessary Skills and Abilities Include:

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to physically and comfortably interact with animals. Understand basic dog body language. Excellent communication and management skills. Ability to offer outstanding and consistent customer service. Ability to work in an environment with moderate noise level. Ability to stand on ones feet for 6 hours at at time without a break.

Desired Experience

1 year of bathing experience in a grooming salon and/or veterinary hospital required, 3 years of customer service experience.
