Route Supervisor - Charlotte, NC

Primary Purpose:
This position is responsible for interfacing with established & new customers to handle a variety of pre-sales or post sales functions and for assisting the General Manager with operations function(s) at a branch.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Assist with managing and coordinating operational activity for the branch.
- Perform pick up and deliveries, coordinate pick up and deliveries, route driver duties if needed, assist with supervising p&d drivers, route drivers and yard personnel at the location.
- Assist with managing operational activities, i.e., service levels, routing efficiency, labor and overtime, fuel, etc.
- Perform job walks, site checks, and make daily calls.
- Coordinate with various departments within the company to ensure customer requests are handled appropriately and in a timely fashion. Act as liaison between customers and office personnel to resolve general inquiries and issues.
- Assist the General Manager implementing standard practices, efficiency recommendation, etc.
- Notify General Manager of employee time off requests and assist with scheduling time off based on operational necessity.
- Work with General Manager to coordinate and perform safety training, when necessary.
- Assist with creating and maintaining a positive, safe, and effective work environment and perform weekly safety walks.
- Report immediately and directly to General Manager, any known safety issues, truck issues, employees not reporting to work or leaving early, non-completed routes, break downs, winch outs, towing, auto accidents, accident/injuries to person, etc.
- Special/other projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications:

- High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 1-year related experience.
- Combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
