Actuarial Student Analyst

Actuarial Student Analyst Universal Holdings is seeking a Student Analyst that can assist the Actuarial function located in their Eagan, Minnesota affiliate. The Eagan team leads risk management analyses for many of the companies under Universal Holdings, which is headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, including reinsurance, rate filings, and exposure management. Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinates, prepares and performs analyses of historical claim and policy experience as initiated by the individual or actuarial management for pricing, valuation and/or risk management. Work with Finance team to coordinate necessary documentation or analysis in support of financial results. Compiles exhibits, explanations, justifications and statistical analysis for the submission of company rate filings, state filing forms and manual pages to the Insurance Departments. Assists with catastrophe risk analyses by validating that modeled results are appropriate for the business, generating reports, and understanding model results. Researches, interprets, and communicates state law requirements affecting coverages or financial reporting. Professional development through the actuarial exam process or continued industry education is expected for the level of responsibility that is assigned. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial/data science, business analytics or related field, or near completion Strong analytical ability, critical thinking and problem-solving skills required Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel Excellent oral and written communication 1-2 passed actuarial exams preferred Working knowledge of analytical platforms such as SQL or Power BI preferred Ability to work both independently and in a team environment The ideal candidate will be able to juggle multiple priorities with accuracy and have an entrepreneurial spirit
