Title: Structural Analyst Engineer I
Position Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: $70,000 - $105,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
Location: Lafayette, CO

Position Purpose: The Structural Analyst Engineer I will perform detailed structural analysis of spacecraft structures and components and will work with spacecraft design engineers to optimize structural designs to meet customer requirements
Job Responsibilities:
- Utilize engineering principals to simplify complex problems.
- Work with spacecraft mechanical design engineers to guide and optimize designs.
- Perform structural analysis (hand calculations, freebody diagrams, and FEA) to verify component and system level requirements.
- Present your results in project design reviews, support/lead static structural and vibration

Required Qualifications/Education:
- Internships within the aerospace industry for entry level position
- Entry level position, 1 years of relevant experience working with FEA software and familiarity with the following types of FEA :
- Static structural
- Modal
- Random Vibration
- Thermal stress/distortion
- Experience using Femap as a pre/post processor
- Experience using the Nastran solver
- Knowledge of manufacturing practices and tolerances related to mechanical design of precision parts and complex assemblies
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Strong analytical skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in an agile, fast paced, small company environment
- A team-oriented outlook, with the ability to work effectively with or lead team members, regardless of technical discipline.
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required
- Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.
