Business Analyst-Manufacturing

Job Summary: The Manufacturing Business Analyst will be responsible for reconciling, summarizing and analyzing production efficiencies and costs, providing related management with timely reporting and support. Job Description: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Develop and maintain standard cost production models which include raw materials, labor, overhead, and packaging. Communicate with plant management and Finance personnel regarding production processes and standard cost issues. Perform monthly financial closing functions related to manufacturing costs. Reconcile production orders, analyze cost variances, and provide insight to Plant Management and Planning teams. Report and analyze labor and overhead spending and absorption budgets and variances. Provide costs analysis in support of Capital projects, Margin enhancement, Marketing programs, and production incentive programs Provided appropriate business support, including, but not limited to, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improving reporting. Prepare audit schedules and performs other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as required or assigned by supervisor. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent combination of education and work experience. 2-3 years of professional Cost Accounting, or equivalent experience. Must be able to communicate and interact effectively, both verbally and in writing with a broad spectrum of internal employees including all levels of management. Must be a proactive team player with the ability to demonstrate cooperation and initiative and work in cross-functional teams. Ability to present complex financial data effectively to executive level contacts. Must have thorough knowledge of analytical techniques and procedures. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of SAP Production Planning and Product Costing. Effective use of reporting tools and personal computer software (spreadsheet, database, word processing, etc.). An intermediate level of proficiency with excel and experience managing/analyzing large data sets is required. Must be organized and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy, quality and quantity of work performed. Must be able to work independently under minimal supervision. Operating a computer keyboard and mouse; speaking, in person and by phone; writing; reading written reports and computer screens. Up to 25%-day travel PHYSICAL DEMANDS Position highly stressful and demanding.
