Position Description
Blue Ocean Mariculture is looking for a highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented professional to coordinate and administer our human resource programs. The HR Manager administers all employee recruitment, compliance, benefit, and engagement programs.
What You'll Do
- Oversee Company’s HRIS (Human Resources Information System).
- Manage recruitment & onboarding processes– post job openings, coordinate application process, send offer letters & new hire packets, collect executed documentation, coordinate pre-employment drug screens, provide benefit & policy overview, conduct orientation.
- Collaborate with Bookkeeper on reviewing bi-weekly payroll, timecards, and tracking PTO.
- Track & schedule employee certifications & training – schedule training, maintain schedule of annual dive physicals & other certifications, coordinate employee appointments & track completion.
- Process & track injury claims – ensure timely & complete documentation, communicate with providers, ensure employees obtain current work status reports. Update and maintain OSHA logs and postings.
- Work with management teams to investigate and resolve team member relations issues to improve productivity, work relationships, morale, and retention.
- Advise managers regarding performance management, counseling, and corrective action. Manage termination procedures.
- Administer health insurance plans – health plan enrollment, manage annual open enrollment communications & changes, respond to employee questions, conduct benefit training.
- Design, develops and administers policies, procedures, and practices compliant with employment laws to maximize team member engagement and retention and mitigate organizational risk.
- Coordinate employee recognition & engagement programs/events
- Create & maintain personnel records, including I-9 compliance.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employer registration and reporting requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
- 4 years of human resources experience.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and complete work assignments.
- Knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines, including recruiting, team member relations, performance management, policy administration.
- Knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risk, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license.
