Manager, Embedded Software Development - New Glenn

As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will manage the development of flight software and development tools for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of safety-critical real-time embedded software development. Reporting to the director of software development for New Glenn avionics, you will manage the world-class team responsible for delivering common software components and tools used in multiple flight and ground applications. You will be responsible for hiring software engineers, coaching existing and new members of the team, organizing tasks, running sprints, coordinating deliverables with the internal customers and collaborating closely with other software, hardware and product teams. Qualifications: B.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or related discipline. 2 years leading and managing teams and organizations. Experience with agile software development practices. 7 years of experience in software development. 2 years of experience working with embedded software, kernel development, BSPs or other systems software components. Proficiency in C, C and Python. Good understanding of operating systems and network protocols fundamentals. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired: M.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or related discipline. Experience developing to DO-178C or other safety critical software standards.
