Job Description As manager of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you ensure that the code that runs spaceships works correctly. Your team will be responsible for ensuring requirements are verifiable, architecting verification plans, implementing continuous integration pipelines and artifact management tools, writing code to test flight and ground code, and being the voice of independent verification of avionics software within the company. It’s a position that will directly impact the history of space exploration and which requires your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Responsibilities: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create verification plans, frameworks, tools, and tests for safety critical, real-time, embedded software that support control and diagnostics of human capable spacecraft, for both orbital and sub-orbital programs. Review and refactor software requirements and designs for verifiability. Write code to verify code in C, C , and Python. Design and write tests to assure code meets safety critical standards and functions. Help guide the ecosystem around common software verification clients and tooling. Guide development of hardware and software architectures supporting advanced spaceflight systems. Be actively involved in tool development including infrastructure to support build, debugging, and deployment. Qualifications: Passion for getting people into space and back again safely. Minimum of a B.S. degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, physics, aerospace, or related field. 12 years of software development and testing experience including multi-threaded programming. Demonstrable systems software development and verification experience at the Platform, OS, and Application software boundaries. Strong software development and debugging skills, particularly in C/C . Passion for and expertise at software test. Experience leading teams through rigorous verification activities per DO-178C or comparable standards. Experience interacting collaboratively with software development teams while maintaining objectivity and independence Hands-on experience with Testing Frameworks and Continuous Integration pipelines. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired: Experience developing and testing real-time embedded systems, gaming systems, control systems, device drivers, or mobile devices. Experience with safety-critical software development. Experience with hardware debug probes, static analysis and code coverage tools, and integration of such tools into automated verification processes. Familiarity with sensors and actuators including GPS, accelerometers, rate gyros, pressure or temperature sensors. Hands-on experience with Linux, ThreadX, Docker, GNU toolchain, Python, C#, MATLAB/Simulink, real-time operating systems, serial communications, IP networking, or developing secure systems.
