As part of a diverse and hardworking team, you will contribute to the design of the flight software for future space vehicles. As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team, you will be responsible for leading the team tasked with developing fault tolerant flight software responsible for the overall command and control of an autonomous space vehicle. This includes defining architectures and requirements, coordination of team activities, and leadership of development and verification planning. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration, and your dedicated commitment and detailed attention will further the cause of safe and repeatable spaceflight. You will create and maintain drawing and diagrams for power distribution, system grounding and bonding. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Responsibilities: Develop application software requirements in coordination with systems engineering and subsystem owners Guide the development and implementation of vehicle manager, subsystem applications, mission sequencing, systems management, and fault management for the vehicle Work with the Platform Software team to define software interfaces, APIs and integration requirements Support the vehicle Fault Management and Autonomy Lead to establish integrated vehicle autonomous behaviors, modes, and states Coordinate the technical activities of the team developing vehicle and subsystem management applications Work with the flight the systems engineering team to develop verification and certification plans for safety critical software Oversee efforts to integrate application flight software components, create and run unit tests, validate on Hardware-in-the-Loop and release real-time solutions Support the integrated product manager to identify and track program and technical risk, develop and maintain schedule, resource allocation, and budget Define and implement software development best practices Qualifications: B.S. degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, aerospace, or related field, or equivalent experience. 12 years of software development experience including 5 years of technical management and 5 years of development experience for spacecraft Experience in autonomy, sequencers, state machines, and/or fault management in a mission- or safety-critical environment Demonstrated experience in requirement derivation, management and verification Understanding of spacecraft system and subsystem functions, and their interfaces Experience with full lifecycle development of software for real-time applications, including requirement capture, design, implementation, integration, verification and release Experience with Agile software development processes Experience in build automation, continuous integration, configuration management, verification, deployment of software Demonstrated software development skills in real-time systems, particularly in C/C Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired Familiarity with software development standards including NPR 7150.2B or C, or DO-178B or C Experience with software development for human spaceflight Experience interfacing with controls software written in C/C /Simulink Experience operating integrated hardware-in-the-loop lab environments The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
