Blue Ridge Power is currently seeking a Scheduling Manager with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment. The Scheduling Manager will provide oversight of all planning and scheduling activities. The candidate must have a distinguished record of remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
What You'll Do
- Assist the construction and development teams to meet the requirements of both internal and external project deliverables.
- Contribute to the establishment and development of effective communication methods to support schedule management.
- Update master schedule, including but not limited to resource loading (such as manpower and equipment loading) to establish sequence and lead time.
- Oversee and manage schedule processes, and conducting all relevant internal audits.
- Develop and maintain effective, sound, and healthy communication with a wide range of people at various levels within the company, as well as customers and suppliers.
- Assist with the production of performance management data, scorecards, dashboards, and trackers.
- Create an environment where co-workers can discover new ways of working that can be of important advantage to the Blue Ridge Power.
- Identify the issues or risks that are associated with any aspect of workforce planning cycle and its supporting data.
- Suggest appropriate recommendations or improvement strategies to support or tackle any and all issues.
- Contribute to the development and management of training packages to ensure the effective use of information to boost performance.
- Develop healthy relationships with internal teams in order to achieve scheduling goals and construction deliveries.
- Assist the organization with staff training, implementation of new software functionality, ideas, and testing.
- Assist in the accurate reporting of scheduling data with the use of various tools and models.
- Ability to multitask with multiple jobs, projects, and various stakeholders throughout the project life-cycle.
- Maintain and prepare Earned Value reports for specific family of projects.
- Lead weekly meetings with internal management and project clients to give detailed summaries of applicable projects.
- Develop and implement processes and procedures for the Scheduling team.
- Assist in development of new Schedulers.
Must-Haves
- Adequate professional experience of working within scheduling or information area.
- Experience in the construction industry.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- 5 years’ experience working with P6 or OPC required.
- 3 years’ experience as Scheduling manager.
- Resource loading and cost loading of schedules and the ability to utilize field reports and cost reports for production planning within the schedule for update purposes and earned value tracking.
- Work experience with HCSS – Heavy Bid and Heavy Job for cost and resource loading purposes.
- Ability to effectively work within a team with the ability to manage workload.
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills to facilitate schedule management in line with service need.
- Sound communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Adequate computer knowledge, including the use of spreadsheets and databases.
- Organization and self-management skills to manage and lead a project accurately and effectively.
- Ability to utilize information in order to foster the acceptance of change or development, and the ability to influence other regions to accept new practices.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in the Renewable construction industry.
- Experience with reporting platforms, Power BI, or SQL.
Working Environment and Physical Demand
- Asheville or Charlotte preferred.
- If remote, travel required for 1 week per month in our Asheville office.
