What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Director position at Blue River PetCare?
Job Description
Napa Small Animal Hospital is in the heart of the Napa Valley wine region. Its downtown is known for late-1800s and early-1900s architecture, a riverfront promenade with shops and restaurants, and an arts scene anchored by the Napa Valley Opera House. The Oxbow Public Market houses a farmer's market and cheese shop, and the Napa Valley Wine Train visits area wineries via vintage Pullman cars. From hiking miles of trails and kayaking the Napa River, Napa is an ideal destination for families of all sizes and kids of all ages beyond wine tasting. Napa is a beautiful location for tourism, settling down, and growing up. It is filled with great attractions that spark joy and tranquility.
Established in 1989, our hospital honors the health and happiness of all pets and people, and it is our firm belief that you can’t put a price on doing the right thing. We provide top quality medical care to a diverse socio-economic community, and as a hospital we recognize that exceptional skills and excellent equipment can only go so far when clients don’t have the funds to pay for services. At NSAH we do everything we can to keep money from getting in the way of our team practicing medicine with integrity.
Indeed, as a full-service hospital of general veterinary medicine, we take great pride in the extensive range of services our doctors have to offer and are always excited to expand our ability to better serve our patients and clients. We have a truly terrific team of support staff and are well-equipped with advanced medical devices such as digital dental & standard radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, in-house lab, & a paper lite operating system. We also have excellent working relationships with top specialty doctors and hospitals throughout the wider Bay Area, as well as the professors and doctors at the UC Davis VMTH.
Requirements
Our ideal candidate will have 5 years of DVM & leadership experience. We are currently looking to fill 3-4 shifts per week and can offer a set weekly schedule with no on-calls, ever! We are looking for someone to bond with us and our community, and we encourage applicants interested in growing into a leadership position. NSAH also strives to nurture doctors seeking to hone their skills in niche areas of veterinary care. Must be a licensed DVM (or have the ability to become licensed) in the state of California.
Compensation And Benefits
Our compensation and benefit plans are generous, competitive, and commensurate with experience, including:
